Have you ever wondered just who are those people running
into a burning building while everyone else is running out?
We are your neighbors. We come from all walks of life. We
are business owners, insurance salespeople, IT professionals,
members of major corporations and everything in between.
We are the Moorestown Fire Department, an 80-person, all
volunteer fire department here to help our neighbors.
If you are interested in joining us, here are some things
you might want to know:
- We all live or work in Moorestown.
- We volunteer approximately 100 hours each year.
- We receive comprehensive training from Burlington County
Fire Academy.
- We wear protective gear and attire provided by the Department.
- We train weekly as a Department.
The Moorestown Fire Department is always looking for qualified
volunteers. We welcome people with a desire to make a difference
and give back to their community.
Interested men and women need to meet certain medical and
physical requirements and be willing to complete a basic firefighter
training course that includes Hazardous Material Awareness
and Operations.
Once initial training is completed, members are ready to
respond to a variety of emergencies and employ the use of
many pieces of high-tech equipment to control hazardous situations.
It is gratifying to know that as a volunteer firefighter
you are providing a valuable service to your community, serving
a cause, working with people, solving problems, seeing benefits
and knowing you have a hand in them. You also share in the
camaraderie of being a member of a skilled team of men and
women ready and able to help their neighbor in an emergency.
The difference between 'ordinary' and 'extraordinary' is
just that little 'extra'.
