Co-op Opportunity

Rowan College at Burlington County (RCBC) / Moorestown Fire Department
Co-Op Membership

The Moorestown Fire Department and Rowan College at Burlington County have developed a partnership to help ensure adequate fire protection for the Moorestown community and give students of RCBC opportunities for occupational training and tuition reimbursement.

This partnership includes a tuition discount program — up to 10% — for students who volunteer eight hours per week with the Moorestown Fire Department. Students who volunteer 16 hours per week may be eligible for up to $1,500 per semester.

Both of Moorestown Fire Department’s stations are approximately a 10-minute drive from RCBC’s main campus in Mount Holly, N.J. and easily accessible via NJ Transit’s 413 bus.

Other requirements include:

• Hold a Firefighter 1 Division of Fire Safety certification from the state of New Jersey.

• Participants need to be at least 18 years old.

• Be declared physically fit to perform necessary duties and tasks.

Students who obtain their Firefighter 1 and go on to volunteer will receive seven college credits from RCBC.
